Lord Commissar

Finally, the long overdue hero of my IG army: The Lord Commissar. Fluff-wise, much like Gaunt's Ghosts by Dan Abnett, my IG regiment is slated to be commanded by a member of the Commissariat. This is my Lord Commissar-Colonel Matthias, to head the 49th Alascadian Regiment (nice play on words, huh? Alaska + Cadia..... oh you get the point.)

Who knows what I'll paint up next? Stay tuned, and find out! This blog is nearly at 100 posts, so I'll make sure to make it extra-special. Until then,

  1. He looks great, by far my favorite of the new Commissar sculpts and you did him much justice here, well done! What kind of basing do you have in store for him?

  3. quite a nice job, you should try to shade more the skin, and provide a bit of highlight on that black... if you are interested in, i painted the same exact miniature, you can see it here:

  4. I appreciate the feedback! Esp. the Engineer, you have a very well painted commissar yourself, thanks for the link! I do plan to come back and finish up models later, but for now everything is about getting them table-ready so I can actually take them somewhere! No Golden-Daemon Contests for me heh heh. I do like your highlighting and will probably do something similar in the future.

  5. ok Fox, if you wanna make the same job on your commissar just follow the tips i wrote above plus another one: in order to highlight black you should go for a mix of black and codex grey (or valleyo equivalent) or, instead of this mix, the mighty tamiya german grey which i used on my commissar... i think it is a pretty neat colour.
