Pre-IG project: A squad of.... uh....

...Something. I only have a Cadian Battleforce coming in the mail, so I will be needing some more models to have a playable force. This here is a double-edged sword: A paint scheme test as well as a possible "counts as" for either a veteran squad or a platoon command squad. What do you think? What would you proxy this unit as? I am not planning on converting them (as they still go to another game system) so what can I use them as?

  1. I'm liking the colour scheme. The officer model is, quite obviously an officer (or an albino comissar, maybe) but the other guys seem more suited to storm trooper status, to me.

Incidentally, what model range are these from?

  2. These are actually kind of hard to get now: they used to belong to a FASA corp game called Vor: The Maelstrom but FASA sold out to another company that just recently went under. They are the orignial creators of Battletech and Mechwarrior, as well. All their minis were manufactured by Ral Partha, which no longer manufactures in the US. Rumor is that they sold some of their original molds to Iron Wind metals, because you can still buy some of the models there. Pretty limited range though, because the game was only a couple years old before FASA went under and the rights reverted back to the game's creator.

I actually did my first Greenstuff sculpt on that officer dude, cuz he had no headgear but his head looked rediculous. That is supposed to be a kind of beret but obviously my greenstuff skills suck.
